"Sometimes the last person on earth you want to be with
is the one person you can't be without."

A couple of days ago, I had the opportunity to watch the film, "Pride and Prejudice" over at Hoyts Cinema, Norwood. The funny thing about this whole experience was, this novel by Jane Austen is one of my favorites as I've mentioned in my review about the book some time ago. And I've been wanting to see a movie of it for so long. I was even interested to see Bollywood's take on this classic, which is entitled, "Bride and Prejudice", because it was the only movie I knew then, which was inspired by the novel. It stars Aishwarya Rai and Martin Henderson. Well, I still am cuz I think this movie is a fun thing to watch.

So, imagine my surprise when I saw a trailer of the this movie on telly a couple of weeks ago. At first, I couldn't believe it then as the trailer ended, I had this huge smile on my face. Man, was I so ecstatic! I couldn't wait to see it!

And I wasn't disappointed. I'm so glad to see the characters I've been reading about come to life. I like how Keira played Elizabeth Bennett and how Matthew played Mr. Darcy. But for those who have read the book, you'll find how some of the dialogs came straight from the pages of the novel and of course, it missed a few scenes and characters, too. What I really didn't get to see in the film was, how Elizabeth's feelings for Mr. Darcy grew over a lot of realizations and several chance encounters with him, especially the one in Hyde Park. However, I really didn't expect that the entire novel could fit in a 2-hour movie. It was just artistically done and the best way for the film to introduce this classic love story to the unknowing audience. I believe I'd be owning a copy of the film as soon as it's available and I will not tire of watching it as I never tired of reading the book.

Hi, Honey!

I do recommend it but I heard that the series, which BBC did on the book was much better since it's the length-y version and Colin Firth played Mr. Darcy in it. =) I've been scouring places searching for a DVD of it. Pffft.

Hope you are well, too!

I totally agree with you ! That movie is enchanting ! Pure pleasure for the eye. The actors are extraordinary, for instance Keira Knightley, who really fits the part !
